Zone Meets - SDC may sponsor at least one Zone Meet in each Zone every year. A local chapter or group of chapters will be responsible for the organization and conduct of each Zone Meet, as specified in the IM Policy guide (Appendix A.) Selection of a group to conduct a Zone Meet will be confirmed by the Zone Coordinator in each Zone at least one year in advance of the Meet date. The Zone Coordinator shall look for and resolve any scheduling conflicts. Policies for the organization and conduct of Zone Meets are established by the Board. (SDC Policy & Procedures Manual)

Zone Meets are historically a great way to meet new friends and see old ones while showing off our cars to a large group of Studebaker fans.  Without the hard work of chapter members these wonderful events would disappear.  A Zone Meet can be whatever you want it to be.  It doesn't have to fit into the "that's the way we've always done it" context.  We, as a club need to dream up new ways to do things.  If you, as the hosting chapter, want a banquet, great, do it.  But if you decided you'd rather have a rally, a tour or anything else you think would be fun, do it.  Your imagination is the limit.

With the amount a work that goes into a Zone Meet we also need to plan ahead.  If you feel your chapter may want to host a Zone Meet two or three years from now, let your Zone Coordinator know so other chapters can plan their events.  Remember, a single chapter doesn't have to do it alone.  In 2018 the three chapters in Southern California joined forces to put on the Zone Meet in Palm Springs.  Not all chapters are close enough to others to make that work, but it's worth asking your neighboring chapters if they'd be willing to help.
